Clinical interests
• Diabetes, including diabetes in pregnancy
• Thyroid conditions, including thyroid disease in pregnancy
• Osteoporosis
• Pituitary, parathyroid and adrenal conditions
• High blood pressure caused by hormonal conditions

Training and hospital appointments
Dr Jayawardene trained at St Vincent’s Hospital and Eastern Health. Her public hospital appointments include Eastern Health, Werribee Mercy Hospital and Western Health.

Research
Her research has included artificial pancreas technology, assessment of hypoglycaemia and continuous glucose monitoring. She has also published on cardiovascular disease in type 2 diabetes. In 2016, she received the ADS/ADEA President Young Investigator Award and a JDRF research grant.
